I think this photo is very strong compositionally. The combination of background and foreground works very well. There are a number of slightly diagonal lines which repeat themselves in the photo. The triangular shape repeats, too. You can just see the wheel of my bicycle on the right. If I had a chance to redo the photograph, I would have the wheel much further into this picture. I am aware of the light flares in the picture. I have resisted the temptation to retouch them out. Timberman 70.3 - Early Morning Timberman Triathlong 2007. The event is in Laconia, New Hampshire. Marian, Ralph Werner and Cathy Bodnoff. The racks are numbered and the age groups are racked together, which means that you have a better sense of who is in your group. Coming out of the swim, and going into the run, a quick glance at the rack gives you a sense of where you are, at least in relation to the others in your age group.
